Five Fannin County boys' basketball teams have qualified for postseason play.

In 23-1A, Fannin teams earned three of the now four available postseason berths per Class 1A district.

Dodd City (12-1) will enter as either the 23-1A champion or runner-up, pending the outcome of its Tuesday district finale at first-place Miller Grove (12-1). Miller Grove won at Dodd City, 47-30, in the teams' previous district meeting this season on Jan. 21.

The postseason equates Dodd City's sixth straight.

Also via 23-1A, Fannindel will make its first trip since 2014's 1A Division II area-round advance -- when it took then eventual State semifinalist Miller Grove to halt the Falcons' run.

Conversely, Ector earned an eighth-consecutive trip to the playoffs.

Fannindel (9-4) holds third place and the Eagles (8-5) are in fourth, heading into the teams' 23-1A finale on Tuesday at Ector.

Meanwhile, 2A Honey Grove will makes its second-straight postseason appearance.

How the Warriors will advance -- as the third or fourth place qualifier from 14-2A -- remained undetermined, after play on Feb. 11.

Honey Grove finished 14-2A play at 8-4, after a 43-26 home win over Wolfe City (7-4) on Feb. 11, taking a half-game lead on the Wolves for third place, heading into district finale play Feb. 15.

Last season, the Warriors reached the Region II-2A area round --
their deepest advance in boys' basketball since doing likewise in the 1A Division I playoffs in 2013 -- defeating 13-2A champion Alvord in the first round.

Elsewhere, Leonard will return after a year absence to the playoffs -- its fifth trip in the sport in the last six years.

The current-frontrunner Tigers (11-2) will be either the 11-3A champion or runner up, holding a one-game lead on second-place Bells (10-3), after play on Feb. 11. The teams split their district meetings this season.

The 2022 boys' basketball postseason is scheduled to start with bi-district play Feb. 21-22.
