Dodd City Lady Hornets 42, Bowie 22

Sanger, Texas -- In a warm-up game played Friday night at Sanger High School, the Dodd City Lady Hornets raced out to an early lead  and cruised to a 20-point win over Bowie.

The Lady Hornets shut out their Class 2A opponent in the first quarter, 14-0.

Dodd City led 24-8 at halftime and padded its lead by four points during the final two periods to post a 42-22 victory.

Dodd City seniors Tori Dotson and Ali Preas led the way, with Dotson dropping in a game-high 20 points and Preas putting up 13 points.

Addyson Chaney finished with four points, Lindsey Mauppin had three points and Natally Medina pitched in two points.

The Dodd City Lady Hornets will face Avinger in the bi-district round on Monday, February 14 at Mount Pleasant High School. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m.
