Bonham, Texas -- It was the Dodd City Lady Hornets and the Ector Lady Eagles squaring off Wednesday evening at Bonham High School in a Region II-1A semifinal series opener.

The first three innings were a scoreless pitchers' duel between Ector's Mollie Hooten and Dodd City's Tori Dotson.

That all changed when Dodd City erupted for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Lady Hornets went on to post a 13-3 win on a walk-off single in the bottom of the fifth by Dulaney Chapman. 

Game two is set for Friday at 4:30 p.m. in Bonham. If needed, game three will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of game two.

The winner of this series will advance to take on the winner of Graford/Blum in the regional finals.
