Dodd City, Texas -- The Dodd City Hornets moved to 10-1 on the season and 5-0 in district with an 8-2 win over the Bland Tigers.

The Hornets grabbed a 4-0 lead in the second inning and slowly pulled away for a six-run victory.

Brody Mauppin led Dodd City at the plate with a 2-for-3 performance with three runs batted in.

Landon Allen drove in a pair of runs and Nick Glover had one RBI.

Brayden Vaught pitched the first three innings and Allen threw four innings of no-hit ball in relief for the save.

The Hornets travel to Honey Grove at 6:30 on Thursday.
