Dodd City Hornets 10, Tom Bean 4

Dodd City, Texas -- The Dodd City Hornets moved to 6-1 on the season and 2-0 in district with a six-run victory over the Tom Bean Tomcats.
Neither team scored in the first inning, but Dodd City's bats came alive in a five-run second inning. The Hornets plated a pair of runners in the bottom of the third to stretch their advantage to 7-0.
Tom Bean got on the board with one run in the top of the fourth inning, however Dodd City would answer with two runs in the bottom half of the frame for a 9-1 lead.
Both teams added a run in the sixth stanza and Tom Bean scored two runs in the top of the seventh, but Dodd City finished the day with a 10-4 win.
Brayden Vaught and Layton Vaught both had a pair of hits for the Hornets.
Brody Mauppin had one hit and drove in four runs.
Landon Allen, Kason Carson and Ethan Barnard all had one hit apiece for the Hornets.
Dodd City's Aaron Munger got the start and the win. Munger pitched 3.1 innings, scattered four hits and fanned four. Allen came on in relief in the fourth inning and held Tom Bean to two hits to earn the save.
The Hornets will be back in action Tuesday at 4:30 in Wolfe City.
