Dodd City, Texas -- The Dodd City Hornets improved to 2-0 for the year with a 10-0, five-inning victory over the Leonard Tigers.
The Hornets scored one run in each of the first three innings and then put the game away with a six-run fourth frame. Dodd City added a run in the bottom of the fifth for a 10-0 win.
Dodd City senior Brayden Vaught struck out seven and limited Leonard to three hits in four innings of work to pick up the win.
Landon Allen pitched a hitless fifth inning for the save.
Vaught aided his own cause with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate and scored twice.
Ashton Balvin was also 2-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs.
Aaron Munger and Brody Mauppin both had two RBIs.
Leonard will get a rematch Saturday when the Tigers host the Hornets for a 1:00 p.m. game.
