Dodd City Hornets shut out Celest in district opener

Celeste, Texas -- The Dodd City Hornets opened district action with a 12-0, five-inning win over the Celeste Blue Devils.
The Hornets jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and began pulling away with four runs in the top of the third.
Dodd City added a run in the fourth and scored five runs in the fifth frame for a 12-0 victory on the road.
Brayden Vaught pitched four innings, struck out nine and only gave up one hit to notch another victory.
Landon Allen took the mound in the fifth inning and didn't surrender a hit to earn the save.
Allen went 3-for-3, scored three times and drove in three runs.
Vaught, Aaron Munger and Nick Glover all had one hit apiece.
Glover had three RBIs.
The Hornets' next game is pushed back an hour at home against Campbell at 7:30 p.m., followed by another home game against Tom Bean scheduled to begin 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
