Band Contest

by Juli Wild

On Wednesday, March 4, the Dodd City High School band, the Swarm, competed at Princeton High School's Sounds of Spring Concert and Sightreading Contest.  The band performed three numbers on stage for three judges, and then played a piece of music they had never seen before for three different judges.  All six judges involved awarded the Swarm with scores of 1 (superior), which is the highest rating.  Mrs. Wild is proud of all the hard work the musicians have done to prepare for this contest, and feels that this performance, along with the judges' written critiques,  was helpful in preparing the Swarm for its first-ever showing in the UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest next month in Anna.
