Paris, Texas -- Ten Dodd City Lady Hornets scored and four finished in double figures as the Lady Hornets overpowered Sulphur Bluff, 80-41, in a Region III-A quarterfinals game played Monday night at Chisum High School.

Dodd City opened the game with a 22-9 run in the first quarter and steadily pulled away, leading Sulphur Bluff 47-21 at the half and finishing the night with an 80-41 victory.

Journie Hilliard led all scorers with 20 points, Rion Baccus scored 16, Dani Baccus dropped in a dozen points and Cassidy Herron was also in double digits with 11 points.

Delaney Pilliod, Kylee Graves and Ali Preas all put up five points apiece, Braylee Cowan had three points, Tori Dotson tossed in two points and Lindsey Mauppin hit a free throw to round out the scoring.

The Dodd City Lady Hornets advance to face Lipan at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 28 in the regional semifinals at Mansfield High School.

The other semifinals game will be Eula squaring off against Saltillo.

The Region III-A finals are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Mansfield.
