Dodd City Lady Hornets slip by Sulphur Bluff in 5

Dodd City, Texas -- Journie Hilliard hammered away at the Sulphur Bluff defense, finishing with 28 kills to help Dodd City come away with a five-set victory.

Dodd City had everything going right in a 25-10 win in the opener, but Sulphur Bluff turned back Dodd City, 25-22, in the second set.

Dodd City took the third set, 25-21, however once again Sulphur Bluff evened up the match with a 25-23 victory in the fourth set to bring the teams back onto the court for the tiebreaker.

In the fifth set, Dodd City finally put Sulphur Bluff away, 15-12, to seal the match.

Dodd City's Ali Preas contributed eight kills and seven blocks.

Tori Dotson also played a prominent role in the victory with six kills and a pair of aces.

Delaney Pilliod doled out 32 assists to her Lady Hornet hitters.

Dani Baccus had six assists to go along with her team-high three aces.

Kylee Graves finished with two aces and Rion Baccus had one ace.
