Round Rock, Texas -- An exciting playoff run by the Dodd City Hornets came to an end at the hands of the D'Hanis Eagles in the UIL State Baseball Tournament semifinals Wednesday.
D'Hanis took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, added a run in the fourth frame and then followed with seven runs in the fifth inning to post a 10-0 win.
Brayden Vaught went 2-for-3, however those were the Hornets' only hits on this day.
D'Hanis (23-4) moves on to face New Home (19-2) in the state finals tomorrow.
