Lady Hornets' s'ball state semifinal set

Dodd City (9-8) will play D'Hanis (21-7-1) on Friday at 11 a.m. in a Class 1A softball semifinal game at Dee Dillion Field on the campus of Mary Hardin-Baylor at Belton. 

The Lady Hornets will be the visiting team, as they make their second state tournament appearance in the last three years and third overall. 

Gail Borden County and Chireno 
will vie in the other 1A state semifinal at 2 p.m. at the same site. 

The winners will play on Saturday at 9 a.m. in the 1A championship game at the Red and Charline McCombs Field at the University of Texas at Austin.

In 2017, Dodd City lost, 20-19, to Hermleigh in eight innings in a 1A state semifinal.

In 2003, Flatonia defeated Dodd City, 9-1, in a state semifinal en route to the 1A championship.
