Ector, Texas -- A 15-hit attack carried the Dodd City Lady Hornets to a 9-5 win over the Ector Lady Eagles in District 13-2A competition.
The first two innings were scoreless before Dodd City scored twice in the top of the third and added a run in the fourth inning to go up 3-0.
The Lady Hornets plated a pair of runners in the top of the fifth frame, but Ector responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning to tie the game, 5-5.
Dodd City jumped back on top with four runs in the top of the sixth and finished the game with a 9-5 district win on the road.
Kenzee Jones and Delaney Pilliod both had three hits, with Cassandra Woodlee, Tori Dotson, Raigan Nichols and Dulaney Chapman all coming through with two hits apiece. Kylee Graves contributed a hit and Journie Hilliard had a sacrifice bunt.
Dotson went the distance and struck out six to get the win.
The Lady Hornets improve to 3-4 in District 13-2A.
