Dodd City, Texas -- The Dodd City Hornets put another District 12-2A win in the books with a five-inning, 14-2 victory over the Honey Grove Warriors.
The Hornets stung Honey Grove with three runs in the first inning and Dodd City stretched its advantage to 6-0 in the second inning.
Honey Grove plated a runner in the top of the third, but the Hornets answered with three more runs to go up 9-1 after three innings.
Dodd City followed up with five runs in the fourth frame en route to a 12-run win.
Zayne Kennon, Aaron Munger and Jason Turner all had two hits apiece to lead the 10-hit barrage. Kennon had a home run, scored twice and drove in three runs. Landon Allen and Turner both had a pair of RBIs.
Dillon Jones threw a three-hitter to collect the win.
With the victory, the Hornets improve to 8-3 on the year and 4-1 in District 12-2A.
The Dodd City Hornets will travel to Sam Rayburn for a 6:30 p.m. contest Tuesday, April 2.
