 Dodd City, Texas -- The Dodd City Hornets wrapped up a perfect 14-0 district campaign with a five-point win over the visiting Yantis Owls.

This seesaw battle kept fans on the edge of their seat. Yantis had a 13-12 lead at the first buzzer, but Dodd City pulled in front, 28-21, at halftime.

Yantis came back to tie the game, 35-35, heading into the fourth quarter. Dodd City outscored Yantis 16-11 in the final frame to post a 51-46 win.

Jaden Stevens paced the Hornets on offense with 20 points and Gunnar Wilson was also in double digits with 10 points.

Tripp Holley tossed in eight points, Brayden Vaught finished with five points, Landon Allen threw in three points and Zayne Kennon had two points.

With the victory, the Dodd City Hornets move to 27-7 on the year and conclude District 23-A competition with a 14-0 record.
