Munger, a Dodd City FFA February 10, 2025 – Caleb member, captured fourth place with their 20-foot gooseneck bar top cattle trailer in the Texas M.A.D.E. (Mechanics, Agriculture, Development and Educa- tion) competition at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Ro- deo, taking home a $10,000 scholarship. The project was shown in the Trailers Division on January 19.
The Texas M.A.D.E scholarship competition is for Ju- nior Agricultural Mechanics Projects Show exhibitors cur- rently enrolled in their senior year of high school and who have shown in the Show’s Junior Agricultural Mechan- ics Projects Show a mini- mum of two years including the 2025 Show. To date, the program has awarded a total of $579,000 to more than 60 students.
Texas M.A.D.E. consists of two competitions – Edu- cational Information and Verbal Presentation. Each competition is scored sepa- rately, and final placings are based on a combination of the contestant’s scores. In the Educational Information competition, students answer 50 questions based on select- ed units from the publication Agricultural Mechanics Fun- damentals and Applications. The top-placing students from the Educational Infor- mation section advance to the verbal presentation com- petition where they speak on the design and construction of their current Ag Mechan- ics Project before a panel of three industry judges.
