Dodd City Lady Hornets 11, Sam Rayburn 2

Hannah Burney started the game for the Dodd City Lady Hornets  and the righty gave up seven hits and two runs over six innings, striking out three and walking none.

The Hornets pounded out 11 hits. Emma Garner went 3-for-4 to lead the Lady Hornets at the plate. Addyson Chaney was 2-for-4. The patient Lady Hornets collected 11 walks. Kayleigh McBrayer, Natally Medina and Sierra Garcia led the team with two free passes apiece.

Dodd City stole four bases, with Burney getting a pair of steals.

In a make-up game played on Saturday, the Lady Hornets topped Tom Bean, 6-2.

A double by Sierra Garcia gave Dodd City a 4-2 lead in the top of the sixth.

Burney picked up the win, striking out nine, scattering eight hits and walking none.

Garcia and Addison Weeks each had three hits and Burney aided her own cause with a pair of hits.

Burney, a senior, is approaching 100 strikeouts for this season. She currently has 87 strikeouts.
