Lady Hornets' RSF s'ball series set

Dodd City will play Abbott in a Region II-1A softball semifinal best-of-three series at Kaufman.

The series will include: Game 1, Thursday at 5:30 p.m., with Game 2 to follow; Game 3, if needed, Friday at 6 p.m.

The winner will advance to the Region II-1A final round, to be completed by May 20.

In the regional quartfinals, Dodd City, a State semifinalist last year, defeated Avalon, 10-0, in six innings. Abbott swept a same-round best-of-three series against Savoy: 16-2, 22-4.

Dodd City has reached the Class 1A State Tournament during four of the last five completed softball seasons.
