Lady Hornets' RQF hoops set

Dodd City will play Throckmorton on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Azle High School in a Region III-1A quarterfinal girls' basketball game.

The winner will advance to the Region III-1A Tournament semifinals on Friday at Mansfield High School.

Dodd City has advanced to the previous eight-consecutive girls' basketball regional tournaments.

Dodd City, the undefeated District 23-1A champion, defeated Saint Jo, 65-28, at Tioga High School on Thursday in the area round. Throckmorton, the 21-1A runner-up, topped Saltillo, 61-52, on Friday.

This postseason advance equates Dodd City's 13th-straight -- the last 11 via undefeated district titles.

Last season, Dodd City reached the regional semifinals -- a year after going 32-0 en route to winning the 1A State girls' basketball championship. Throckmorton advanced to the regional quarterfinals, after winning 21-1A.
