Dodd City, Texas -- The girls championship trophy from the 2022 Craig Reed Invitational won't be leaving town after the Dodd City Lady Hornets routed Class 4A Quinlan Ford, 51-17, in the title game Saturday night.
Autumn Brown, Addyson Chaney and Addison Weeks all had quick baskets as Dodd City grabbed a 10-0 lead. The Lady Hornets were up 15-1 as the first quarter ended.
Weeks turned an offensive rebound into two points as the second period began and Chaney hit a baseline jumper to extend Dodd City's lead to 19-2.
The Lady Hornets opened up a 20-point lead when a triple by Chaney gave Dodd City a 22-2 advantage.
The Lady Hornets had a 34-6 lead at the half. Chaney led all scorers with 14 points at the break and Weeks was also in double digits with 10 points.
The Dodd City girls wrapped up a successful weekend with a 51-17 victory to win their hometown tournament.
