Dodd City will play Prairie Valley on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 5:30 p.m. at Callisburg High School in a Region III-1A area-round volleyball match.
The winner will face Saint Jo or Sulphur Bluff in the regional quarterfinals Monday or Tuesday at a time and location to be determined. Saint Jo and Sulphur Bluff play on Thursday at Sherman High School at 7 p.m.
The postseason equates the 28th in the last 33 years for Dodd City (26-11, 4-0), ranked No. 6 in the final regular season Class 1A poll by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.
The Lady Hornets finished undefeated in 19-1A to advance to the postseason as a district champion and had a bi-district bye.
Prairie Valley, the 17-1A third-place qualifier, advanced to the area round after a 25-19, 25-23, 25-16 defeat of Covington on Tuesday, Nov. 1, in the bi-district round.
