Defending 1A s'ball champ Lady Hornets' regional final game set

Defending Class 1A State champion Dodd City will play Graford in the Region II-1A softball final Friday at 7 p.m. at Krum High School.

The winner will advance to the Class 1A State tournament semifinals on May 31 at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. at the Red & Charline McCombs Field in Austin.

Dodd City has played in the State softball semifinals three of the last four completed softball seasons -- 2017, 2019 and 2021 -- winning the 1A title last spring.

In the regional semifinals, Dodd City defeated Hubbard, 8-6, 14-4, on May 12-13 at L.D. Bell High School in Hurst. Graford in the same round topped Blum, 14-8
